Home Ec?

I helped Mommy do some sewing today. She made some cloth wipes. Let's just say that they're nice enough to wipe your hiney with. Maybe she should have taken less math classes and more home ec.I enjoyed talking on my new phone.

Introducing Brittney

I grew an inch in my sleep because today when I put my clothes on, they were too small! Don't I look kind of ridiculous? It's definitely time to stop wearing size 9-12 month shirts and even some pants that size.Mommy took me to my favorite store today (HyVee) and snapped a couple of pictures of me in my car seat. I love to play with my lizard. I say "blah" whenever I see him because that's what he says to me.My car seat is so comfy. I love being able to kick the back of the seat!I helped make dinner tonight. I wore my ugliest diaper because Mommy fed me messy stuff and didn't want to sacrifice something cuter. Bubba loved supper because it included bacon and peanut butter. I refused to even put the bacon to my lips so he benefited. Mommy was pleased because I ate a tiny bit of chicken for lunch at least. This is my friend Brittney. She's shown me how to get my diaper changed. Mommy and Daddy change her diaper and give her all sorts of love and attention because she behaves so well. Now, I try to act like Brittney during my diaper changes and I'm getting lots of extra love and attention too. Mommy even told Brittney how proud of me she was. I like being a good girl.Don't tell Mom, but her bear psychology isn't truly working, I just think she's a little crazy and feel sorry for her so I've stopped kicking.

Funny Faces Overload

The face I make when I say, "Oooooooh."Messy, happy, excitement face. What are you looking at?Grrr....I will eat you.Weeee!Do you love me or is it the crackers? What? I look exactly like my daddy, you say?Mmmm.Serious dancing concentration face.Chilled out faced, trying to get the crackers out of my teeth. This is the most fun ever! (Euclid's face was pretty much saying, "Please help me.")Saving some crackers for later. Can you believe that it snowed a bunch yesterday and the snow covered our green grass? I'm going to play outside later. We ended up not doing much of anything yesterday. Daddy had work to do. We still had fun, as you can see. Do you like my new pants? They're actually a diaper cover. It's nice having pants that were made to have enough room in the caboose for my fluffy bum.

A-OK

My doctor visit went really well yesterday. Mommy adjusted my schedule for the day (per Jamie's advice) and I was able to get a decent nap in before the appointment. I'm finally old enough to preserve my dignity and didn't have to get undressed. I weighed in at 21.78 pounds (35th percentile) and my height was 31.1 inches (71st percentile). I'm now long and lean, but heftier than I had been. I still have a big head for all my brains (84th percentile). I wandered around the exam room and read some books. Mommy didn't have to do much to entertain me. It was a lot different from past visits. Dr. Lisa didn't have any concerns about me since I'm a good sleeper, eater, and can do lots of stuff. The only part that wasn't very fun were the shots, but I recovered in about 10 seconds. I gave the nurse the stink eye when she gave me a sticker though. I don't have to go back until July.

We might go to a swimming party this afternoon. It depends on my napping and on Daddy. It's supposed to snow tonight. I thought it was spring!?

Not a Baby

My parents are going to have to accept the fact that I'm not a baby anymore. I wear jewelry (constantly!).
I "help" cook and clean.
I'm constantly on the go and wear fancy underwear.I make faces at adults when they don't do what I want. My nose is my most expressive feature.I also throw tantrums and cause havoc. Mommy was going to take me to the library this morning for story time, but then she realized that all of her jeans have poop on them. I flail whenever I have dirty pants and she's not fast enough for me during diaper changes. Yesterday I discovered how much fun it is to throw pot lids down the stairs and I ran away from Mommy in a parking lot. I've noticed that Mommy has a hard time picking me up when I straighten both of my arms above my head. That one comes in handy when I'm trying to help The Buddy eat his supper. I'm also talking up a storm. I love to say bye, goodbye, buddy, good buddy, baby, mommy (have to throw her a bone once in a while), hi, hello, no, ball, cheese, and various other words. I've taken to chewing on Mommy while nursing and then smiling at her and waving. So in other words, I'm absolutely adorable and fun, just a little naughty.

Busy, Busy

We've had a busy few days. Nana and Papa came on Saturday to make a special delivery. We went out for lunch and played at a park. I had so much fun showing them all of the cool stuff at the park (including a massive mound of deer poo). Matthew came over for a while on Sunday because his daddy was doing surgery with my daddy so our mommies were bored. Yesterday was the day of screwed up naps. I refused my morning nap, but took a good one in the afternoon. I've pretty much decided that I only need one nap and that it's okay to get up for the day at about 8am. Woohoo!

We walked over to the mall and had supper last night. I was a good girl so I had a carousel ride afterwards. I walked around the neighborhood once we got home and then played with Mommy's purse for a bit.Of all the pictures that Mommy took of me yesterday, I refused to look at the camera even once. I was busy!

Papa and Nana helped Daddy go from this:
To This! Yes, that was standing water and soaked carpetting in the above picture. You're lucky that smells can't be sent over the Internet!

Who Needs 'Em?

Who needs pants with gams like mine? I told Mommy it was time to go shopping yesterday. I had her money and cell phone all ready. She took me to Target and then we watched the carousel for a while. I also got to ride in a car with Stuart Little.
Yesterday was another one long nap day and it was awesome. We're going to try to change to one nap a day every day after my doctor's appointment next Friday. The appointment is scheduled for 1:45 so we'll have to try for two naps that day. Mommy tells me that Daddy took one long nap overnight last night from about 2-5am. I bet he feels tired today. Poor Daddy!

The Great Outdoors

We had a fabulous day yesterday. It started by a trip to the park where we met up with some friends. It was fun to go exploring all over the place. I don't like to walk on wood chips though.Look at all there is to do at the park! I can't wait until I'm bigger so I can try everything out. There's even a sand pit with all sorts of toys. I walked past it and a little girl threw sand in my ear. How exciting! After my morning nap, we played in our backyard. Mommy had to carry me to the middle of the yard to get me to walk on the grass. I tried my best to throw the ball for The Buddy. He was ready and waiting, but the flinger was just a little too long for me.I decided to try to use the orange float toy in the flinger.I took a moment to pause in my efforts. The Buddy and I decided to stop playing fetch and to dig in the yard instead. We both needed a drink after all of our playing. Mommy didn't get a picture of it, but I put my mouth up to the bowl and tried to drink. When Mommy didn't freak out about me getting in the dog dish, I decided to test her further. No reaction to a hand in the bowl...No reaction to putting the ball flinger in the bowl...Okay, I'm going for it!This is the best day ever. Euclid agrees!Look at me! Mommy had to strip me down afterwards because my shirt and pants were soaked through. I hope I can talk her into getting me a splash table so I don't have to play with the dog dish all summer. My custom diapers finally came yesterday. Mommy was so excited that she shut my finger in the laundry closet door. That wasn't fun, but I got over it quickly. How do you like my outfit?I'd better go. Matthew is going to be over any minute now to play with me. That'll be two days in a row that I get to see him. Yay!

Interior Design

I've decided to become an interior designer when I grow up. Look at how pretty I made the window sill today! I decided to center the zebra display for more impact.Mommy snapped a picture while I was doing some final adjustments. My final evaluation.A job well done! I was obviously proud of myself.Since it was so nice out today, we played in the driveway and went for a walk. I swear that Mommy puts me in tight pants just so she can laugh at my behind.Mommy put me into the grass so I could look at the first flower popping up by our mailbox. I couldn't resist touching it.I discovered that I could see Mommy through the window on my stroller. We had fun smiling at each other and making faces. It's supposed to be even nicer tomorrow. I can't wait! Oh, and it's St. Patrick's Day so I get to wear green.

Good Morning!

Daddy went and saw his patients early today so he got home just a few minutes after I got up for the day. We were able to have breakfast together. I was pleased and so was Mommy.

Do you like my cool new plate? I get to use it for most meals until I pull it off the tray. Mommy is trying to get me to leave it alone, but it's too fun to tug on it right now. As you can see, I'm very good with the spoon.I went swimming yesterday and met lots of cute boys. My main squeeze was there, but there were a ton of other boys my age. What's the deal with there not being any girls born the same year as me? We're like an endangered species. My parents say that I'll enjoy that once I'm older.

.

We got home from swimming kind of late and I accidentally fell asleep in the car on the way home. I was refreshed and didn't need another nap until 2:30. I slept from 2:30-5 and gave Mommy a glimpse of what life will be like when I have a toddler schedule. She's already rubbing her hands together in anticipation.

.

Have a great weekend everybody! Oh, and Daddy is feeling much better now. He finishes his medicine today and then we'll see how he does.
