Little Stinker

We played outside today. It was nice and warm even though it looked like it was going to rain. I loved watching a mommy bird fly back and forth with nest material. Don't I look just like Daddy in this picture?Mommy caught me mid-sentence.I tried a new flavor of yogurt - rocks and wood chips.Do you like my outfit? The bottoms are a fleece diaper cover.

We've been having some fun times, as usual. I require 100% of Mommy's attention while I'm awake so she's trying to adjust to that. I've been really funny the last couple of days and have done some disgusting things.

.

Last night I ran around the table while Mommy and Daddy ate a late supper. Daddy gave me pieces of pasta and then I got Bubba to chase me while I squealed. Earlier today I unsnapped (!) one side of my diaper and then proceeded to put my hand down the front of the diaper and then in my mouth. This afternoon I put my bottom in Mommy's face and then let out three big, stinky toots. That's what she gets for feeding me black-eyed peas. Hahaha!

.

Oh, and apparently I wasn't clear in my last post. Don't you guys know the song that goes "Baby, C, D, E, F, G....."? Mommy calls it the Alphabet Song. I only know the first part of it.

Baby C's

I have a couple of new songs I can do. First, I can sing my Baby C's along with my alphabet elephant. I'm not sure why my parents laugh when I start that song every time. I can also clap my hands appropriately during "If You're Happy and You Know It."

I went to the mall this afternoon and got into a cat fight. This chick jumped me, but Mommy had my back and pulled her off of me. We hit the road after that. Who knew a two year old in pig tails could be so tough? It's a good thing we left when we did or I would have shown her what's what. It could have turned really ugly.

Daddy has put me to bed for the last week. He sings me songs and lays me down and I go right to sleep. I only get to have my mommy milk before my nap now.

Water World

Water was the theme of the day yesterday. We went swimming in the morning with all of our mommy and toddler friends. I showed the other kids how to dive under water and how to escape from their mommies. After my nap we played outside for a while. The real fun started when Mommy filled my bucket with water. The classic childhood picture - filthy child in filthy surroundings. Awesome.Nothing is better than water!Bubba had fun too. He kept trying to drink the water out of my bucket.I was soaking wet when we came inside so Mommy had to change my clothes.I talked on the phone with both ears (there is one in my left hand that you can't see). I do this all the time, but Mommy usually can't catch me with the camera. We watched cartoons while we waited for Daddy to get home to take us on a date.I read a book too.I'm my mother's daughter.Mommy was showing me her belly so I showed her mine.I'm planning to join the circus. Do you like my balancing act?If you weren't impressed by the first pose, how about this one? I stayed like this for a long time.Once Daddy came home, he took us to Boston's and I ate a ton of food and acted like a little lady. He gave me a bath to finish the water-filled day. It looks like it's going to rain all weekend so I guess that's going to be our water experience for the next couple of days. Why does it always rain on the weekend?

100% Happy

Yesterday afternoon was one of those times that I was 100% happy. I woke up from a 3.5 hour nap, had my pants changed, put on a comfy outfit, ate a delicious lunch of black-eyed peas and fresh pear, and then went outside and played with a big bucket of water with Mommy and Euclid. Daddy came home after a little bit and I played with him for a while outside and then he colored with me at the kitchen table while Mommy cooked dinner. Crayons make a delicious appetizer. ;)
.
I've been enjoying snuggling. A couple of days ago Mommy put her head on my lap and I played with her hair and grinned down at her. I can be gentle. I also kiss Mommy's belly if given the opportunity. She kisses mine all the time (probably because I'm always showing it to her) so it's only fair.
.
Mommy apologizes for not updating the blog as much lately. Anyone that's tried to take my picture in recent days knows that it's extremely difficult to get a good picture. I move very quickly and look away from the camera at the last second. Forget smiles!

Important News

Daddy signed a business contract last night. We're going to move to live in the same town as the rest of the family in June of 2010. We're all very excited!

5.5 Hours

That's how long my nap was yesterday. I slept from 11:30 until 5 when Mommy came in and woke me up for lunch/supper. I felt like a million bucks after finally catching up on my rest. During my sickness, I slept pretty well at night but didn't take good naps (much to Mommy's dismay since Daddy was stuck at work every evening except Tuesday). Anyway, I'm not allowed to take such a long nap today because Nana and Papa are coming and I'd miss out on seeing them.

Here are some pictures from the last couple of days. Mommy tried to sunscreen my head and it looked pretty gross.Cedar chips aren't as yummy as they look.Sunshine feels good on your face (no sunscreen in the hair this day).
Euclid's fancy dog house is the most fun thing to explore in the yard now that the sand bags are blocked off. Surveying my domain.
Getting down and dirty.

Have a great weekend!

Beth!

We thought you might enjoy this video of my friend Beth. She loves me!

We had a fun afternoon outside. It was gorgeous and we snuggled and cavorted for a couple of hours. Don't worry. I was wearing sunscreen! Mommy took a few pictures, but she hasn't had a chance to load them onto the computer yet.

Singing

Enjoy my singing.

E-I-E-I-O

I can sing Old MacDonald Had a Farm! I sang it a bunch yesterday and when Daddy came home, I performed on cue. Mommy and Daddy were so excited.

I'm doing better, but not completely over whatever is wrong with me. By Monday night I had Mommy crying almost as hard as me because I was so grumpy all day. I was pretty much my normal self yesterday and didn't have a fever at all until the late afternoon. I was feeling well enough to walk to the park (at least most of the way). We spent about two hours outside yesterday afternoon. I woke up today covered in snot, but without a fever. This post-nasal drip stuff is really annoying.

Hot, Hot, Hot!

Heat has been the theme of the last couple days. I got a fever at church on Easter and I still have a fever. Mommy and Daddy don't like it one bit. I sure don't like it either. Anyway, here are a few Easter pictures. Most of the pictures looked like this. I'm difficult!I stopped for a while to play with a booster seat.Mommy loves me! Look at my cheeks. :(
I need my Mommy so I'm not going to let her type much more. I did want to say that I loved hiking through the woods yesterday. Mommy strapped me to her back and it was so fun! I hope we do it again sometime. The Buddy is so sore that he cried in his sleep last night, but he had fun swimming in the creek and running after a huge turkey.

Happy Days

We've been having too much fun and haven't had time to blog. Mommy did a video of me to make it up to you. Please excuse her bad singing. She has to sing in order for me to sing.
The weather has been much nicer so we've been spending a good portion of the afternoon in our backyard. I really basked in the sun today.

I also like to peek through the fence slats.Mommy laid on the ground so I had to get up close and personal with her. I laid on the ground yesterday and rolled around on some dog poo. Mommy rushed over when I picked it up and tried to put it in my mouth. I love to get her excited! Here's a reenactment, minus the poo. Mommy should do a video of me running around the backyard sometime. I run, then sit, then lay, then roll, then repeat.

Ah, sunshine.I also love to get into trouble with the sand that Daddy has behind the smoker.

A couple of nights ago I said, "Oh boy!" when my daddy let me play with his pager. That got a good reaction from my parents. Last night I let Daddy put me to bed while Mommy went out with some friends. We went to Tot Lot this morning and I rode around on a big tricycle and made a bunch of friends. This evening I pulled my diaper off and escaped down the stairs. Tomorrow we're going to attempt story time at the library now that Mommy isn't having wardrobe issues. I'm still being a very good girl for diaper changes. We might go swimming on Friday morning with our meet-up buddies. We're so busy having fun!

Miracle Day

I was created two years ago with the help of modern medicine. I wrote all about it last year and here's the link so you can check it out. Mommy made a slide show to celebrate the last two years. Make sure you put your sound on so you can enjoy the pretty music.

Mommy wanted me to make it clear that all babies are miracles, not just the ones that are hard to create. We hope that there are many more miracles to come. Thanks for being part of my special day.

Patience

Daddy is calling me a future surgeon and is so excited about my patience and attention span. I spent about half an hour trying to put my shoes on today. I didn't quite get it figured out, but I didn't get upset or anything. I've also been known to spend a long time trying to buckle my feeding chair seat. It seems like most people would get frustrated, but I just keep trying. It's fun to try to figure out how things work.

Mommy got a migraine headache when she was home alone with me this afternoon. She had to close the doors and trap me upstairs with her so she could lay on the bed with the lights off. I played in my room where she could hear and see me. She was so happy that I was a good girl for two hours before Daddy could get home to help. By the time Daddy got home, she was feeling much better. I had a fun time playing with my shoes, reading books, playing my drum (!), playing with Mommy's feet, pulling apart a cardboard box, and spreading diapers all over the floor. I'm very independent and don't need anyone to entertain me!

Before she got sick, Mommy changed some of my wardrobe over to 18 months so I'm going to have lots of new outfits to show off. I hope I have matching necklaces and shoes!

Oh, and congratulations to my cousins for doing so well with your conferences. I hope I grow up to be as good and smart as all of you! You're awesome.
