Momentous Day

Today was a doozy. It involved the dentist, illegal activities, catastrophic poop, and showing off to my fans. Before I get to that, Mommy forgot to tell you that I've figured out how to get down steps now. I'm not very good at it yet, but I'll practice it this week. We'll do a video sometime when it isn't just Mommy and me. She's too scared to have her hands in use when she's spotting me.

The guest room is pretty much ready now. We're taking reservations! Grandpa and Grandma H are coming to stay tomorrow night and I have a feeling my other grandparents will come soon.Mommy and Dada are now sharing a computer desk. We'll see how that works! So, on to today's events. Mommy had a teeth cleaning this morning so I got to go see the dentists with her. Dada showed me off while she was getting scraped and polished. I missed my normal morning nap so Mommy had a bad feeling. I fell asleep on the ride home and got in a decent nap, just a little delayed.

After my nap, I got my lunch and Mommy took me with when she did some illegal activities that involved disposing of the broken computer desk. Don't worry, she didn't throw it into the woods behind our house like someone else did with their mattress. She just borrowed a little space in a dumpster.

Then it was time to go grocery shopping, but I fell asleep in the car and it was sprinkling so Mommy decided to not get groceries. We're going to have company and we don't even have bread or cereal. Mommy just didn't have the heart to wake me.

I took care of some serious business when I woke up from my nap. Unfortunately, I was still in my car seat and Mommy hadn't put my diaper on correctly. I bypassed the diaper and Mommy spent about half an hour cleaning the car seat after she had to cut my clothes off of me. Yes, it was that bad.

Mommy put me in a cute outfit to make herself feel better and then attempted to get a cute picture of me in my dress. Foiled again! This is my drugged out look. I had a big grin on my face directly before and after this picture was taken. That flash is darn bright!
I wanted to play peek-a-boo with my circle book instead of getting my picture taken.
At least this picture is halfway decent, even though I didn't look at the camera.
Mommy needed to get attacked in order to give up. She isn't scared of me anymore because I haven't bitten her (well, at least not hard) in the last few days.
Matthew showed up shortly after this and I got to meet his grandma. She was a cool lady and held me a little bit. She showed me the admiration I deserve, even if I was a little grumpy. Since she's such a big fan, I decided to show off in front of her. I took a few steps from Mommy to Jamie. Everyone was really impressed (although Mommy was slightly sad that I did it when Dada wasn't there to see). I think I should practice that skill some more since it gets such a great reaction. Kevin and Cori showed up too, but I'll see them tomorrow at the football game.

I had more guests as I finished up dinner. Dada's Uncle Wayne and Terri stopped by on there way through town. They brought me a really cool book. Apparently Terri is one of my biggest fans too. She knew all about Euclid getting a bath even. I loved Wayne so much and I crawled right into his lap. He looks a lot like Grandpa D and has a nice comfy lap so I stayed sitting there for a long time (well, a long time for me). Terri took some pictures so I'll share them if she sends them to Mommy (hint, hint).

After all my adoring fans left, Mommy gave me a fun bath and I gave Mommy my dictation before I went to bed. I need my beauty sleep after such an eventful day!

The Mess

Mommy had a bright idea a couple of days ago and it's made a real mess of our house. I'm not sure what to think of it. We have frequent overnight guests and we all LOVE to have company, but Mommy didn't like making our guests sleep on an air mattress when there was a perfectly good bed in my room. She's taking that bed out of my room and having Dada put it down in the computer room. We hope our guests feel more welcome this way.

Mommy has put some trust in me with this switch. I've slept through the night for three weeks straight so Mommy has only used the guest bed for nursing and snuggling. She hasn't had to sleep with me there for a long time. Now she just needs to figure out where she's going to nurse me for the next few months (or more, since I'm being such a good girl and not biting).

I can't wait to see what she does with my bedroom. There will be more room to play in there. Maybe she'll have more of my books and toys out. It will be fun to be able to hang out in my room.

I need Mommy's attention away from the computer. It's time for breakfast!

All About the Buddy

What's going on? Are we going to go on a walk?
The tree in our front yard is changing colors. Mommy says all the trees will be pretty soon.Just look at the tree over my shoulder if you don't believe her.Oh, so we're giving The Buddy a bath? What will the neighbors think? Who cares?Mommy is silly.I really enjoyed watching Euclid's bath experience. Dada had to clean him because he rolled on a dead mouse earlier.
Dada took me outside to play and Mommy followed soon after with the camera. Her plans to get good pictures of me were foiled when I continuously put leaves in my mouth.
I played ball with The Buddy. He was very gentle with me and I squealed in glee when he took the ball out of my hands.
I got to play over at Matthew and Jamie's house today while Mommy went to the dentist. I didn't mind it one bit and was a perfect angel. Matthew slept part of the time and I got to hang out with both mommies for a while. Matthew will get to come over to our house sometime when his mommy has an appointment.

Movie Time

My favorite game is peekaboo. This is a chilled out version of what I do. Sometimes I scream and laugh with excitement.

I love bedtime. Mommy had to get a video of this once she discovered my ritual with Dada. You'll need to turn your volume up for this one.

We had a fun time today and Mommy will post about it tomorrow. She wants to hang out with Dada tonight.

Power Play Dating

Mommy wanted to show everyone that I do know what a bumbo is for. I haven't figured out how to sit in it properly, but at least I now recognize that it's a chair. I went on another meetup playdate at the mall today. I made lots and lots of friends and Mommy had a heck of a time trying to get a decent photo.

This little girl kept yelling "baby" and touching me. She was terrifying and her mommy kept having to pull her away from me.
Hey baby...do you come here often?
I tried to climb up the slide like all of the other kids, but I'm just not strong enough yet.
This was the view looking up. Cool, huh?
I showed this boy my tongue. He was impressed.
Here's an overview of the play area. Maybe Leif will play with me there when he comes to visit for my birthday.
I had to take a breather.
Everyone enjoyed climbing on the crayons.
I'm so glad I can stand on my own because it makes it much easier to spin this toy.
I had to show this boy how the gears work.
This guy got a little frisky with me.
Rocking my baby mullet.
Mommy took this picture of me right before we left. She could tell I was exhausted because one eye got a lot smaller than the other. Grandpa H and Mommy are the same way.
There might be a meetup group in your town. They have them for more than mommies. Here's the link if you want to make some friends! Mommy will definitely go to more playdates with me because my afternoon nap is approaching the two hour mark after all of my activity.

Nap Rebellion

Recently I've started rebelling against my naps again. I wake up after about 25 minutes and howl. Sometimes I fall back asleep and sleep for a long time and sometimes I'm able to sustain the crying long enough to get Mommy or Dada to rescue me. This morning I only took a nap from 8:50-9:15 after getting up at 5am so Mommy had a long day. Dada is having a long day too because he isn't even home yet! Poor guy. Mommy had to read me my stories tonight.

Speaking of stories, Dada accidentally let Mommy see our super secret bedtime ritual. She walked in while I was doing the touch and feel book with Dada the other night. I love to touch the fluffy red bird. I don't know why Mommy was so impressed.

Playgroup was fun. I met three kids and two mommies. We hung out at the library for a couple of hours and then I took a really long afternoon nap. Mommy didn't have her camera out when the other kids were there, but she will for the next one.
I can't believe she put me in such a short dress when I was trying to make new friends. It's time to go the next size up in dresses. Too bad 9-12 month sized pants are way too big! At least my baby legs keep my legs warm.
Mommy got a new toy today. She says that it's for me, but I got really upset when she held it cradled in her arms and rocked it. See!
I was back to my silly self as soon as she put GloDevil away. I love to smile with my eyes shut and my nose wrinkled.
The most exciting thing I did today was climb up these stairs. Mommy was behind me the whole time, but she wasn't touching me. I did it all by myself. I'm so awesome!
Oh, and don't worry about Mommy. She's healing well and I haven't bit her all day. She got back at me by slipping broccoli into my applesauce. Cruel...

Orchard Time

Grandpa and Grandma D came to visit yesterday and we all went to Wilson's Orchard after my afternoon nap.I got to ride on Dada's shoulders. There were some really sad trees called Weeping Willows.
We walked right under those sad trees.I got hungry and started eating Dada's hair. I think he liked it. I'm blurry because I was moving really fast!
Mommy looked up at the tree with me and let me grab on.
I was getting heavy for Mommy so she let Grandpa take a turn.
He let me stand in the grass and helped me find my balance.
I had to pose by an apple tree since we were at an orchard. Mommy wanted me to stand holding onto the tree, but I didn't like how the tree felt and told Mommy that I wasn't going to go with her program.
I really didn't mind the grass at all.
There were some pumpkins at the orchard since it's October.
The guy next to me was really skinny and couldn't fill out his shirt.
I didn't like how the straw felt on my feet.
I'm thinking these apples must be organic because they don't look like the ones at the grocery store.
There were many, many varieties to choose from. Mommy says the best kind are Honeycrisps.
I'm going to my first meetup playdate today and I'm going to make some friends. Mommy will try to take some pictures, but will have to restrain herself so they don't think she's the weird camera lady.
