Big Kids

Don't we look like big shots? I went over to my main squeeze's this morning for a while. Mommy and Miss Jamie sat around most of the time while we entertained ourselves. Can you believe that I'm old enough to have nightmares now? I've had a few since my parents went on vacation. Mommy and I have been having discussions about what to do if I wake up scared and she's given me a special blankie to hold. It's worked the last couple of days.

I'm over my cold and it's a huge disappointment. I'm so good at farmer blowing my nose! It's just not the same when there isn't anything to blow out of my nose.

Yesterday we went to tot lot and I made a friend. I usually don't like it when anyone joins me in the playhouse, but there was a really nice little boy there that made me smile. I decided not to push him or run away. Later on Mommy had to get off her duff when I dove through the window of the playhouse though. I landed just fine and she was way too slow anyway.

Not so Picky

I've been experimenting with new foods lately. I attempted to try soy sauce at the restaurant on Friday night. That didn't go so well. We went to a party on Saturday night and I discovered the relish tray. Who knew that celery and broccoli were so delicious? Yesterday I ate enchiladas and black olives. Here's a picture of me at the kids' table at the party. Aren't we cute with our matching seats? It was a beautiful day yesterday so we went on a walk after my nap. We did get a little sprinkled on, but I didn't mind one bit.As soon as Daddy put me down, I made a run for it.Are you guys coming, or what?We don't have anything exciting planned for this week and that's okay. I need to save up my energy for Halloween.

Imagination Movers

We had a blast last night at the concert. Daddy got off of work a little early so we headed out right away. We went to Babies R Us and I got to ride around in a big stroller. We didn't buy it because it was the ugliest colors in the world (black and gold), but Mommy told me we're going to get one for Charlotte. After that we went and ate at the mall and then went to see our show. Can you believe they had popcorn and the guys from my TV? They sang and danced and there were lots of kids and mommies and daddies.I loved the lights that flashed on the ceiling!Daddy had fun too! He sang along and helped me with some dance moves.
The concert was about an hour long and we didn't leave until after my bedtime. I fell asleep in the car and then cried for my bed when we got home. I slept in this morning until a little after 8. Rock and roll can really wear you out!

Adventures in Babysitting Plus MATT!

Mommy took a few pictures of me right before she left so she'd have pictures handy on her trip. She'd better enjoy the fact that I haven't learned to roll my eyes yet.I dismantled our chair while she packed. We needed some groceries while Nana and Papa were in charge so they made me do some shopping. I like fruit!I read a bunch of books to Nana.I waved goodbye to Nana before I took off on the airplane with Papa.He let me be in control and I liked that.I made friends with some turtles. They have funny faces.
Besides the Children's Museum, Nana and Papa let me help them clean some things around the house and my great aunts came to visit. I gave away a kiss to keep them happy. Maybe I'll give two the next time I see them if they play their cards right.

Grandpa and Grandma also came to watch me for a couple of days. They took me to Wilson's Orchard and I picked some apples and rode on a big wagon. I got my very own pumpkins too.

I was very excited when Mommy and Daddy came home. I kept pointing at them and saying their names. I didn't even want to nap by myself so we did a family nap in their bed. That was just what I needed after being away from them for 4.5 days.

On Sunday night we went to Matt's 2nd birthday party. It was Elmo themed and there were balloons and cake and ice cream. I immediately searched and found all of his cool toys.I got him a frog puppet that ribbits. He loves frogs! As soon as he saw that it was a frog he went to his room to get his other frog friends to meet his new one. Isn't that funny? He got some art supplies too. Maybe he'll let me help him make some cool stuff.I'm going to see Matt in the morning for our regular Wednesday play date. Tomorrow night we're going to the Imagination Movers concert and I'm going to stay up past my bedtime. I can't wait!

Video

In preparation for Mommy and Daddy's trip, Mommy made a video to watch when she misses me or I miss her. It's pretty long and boring, but it's very typical of what we do together. :)http://s62.photobucket.com/albums/h113/annierose1979/?action=view&current=PopcornCuddles.flv

"Uncle" James

Matthew came back this week so we met for a couple dates. He came over to my house on Wednesday and then we met at the pool on Friday. We had a fantastic time at the pool as usual. Mommy laughed at me because I didn't want to pee in the pool. I got out when I needed to pee and peed on the concrete. It just didn't seem sanitary to pee in the pool and I'm scared of toilets. I even told everyone I was peeing.

We went to the airport on Friday after my nap and picked up "Uncle" James. I played on the escalators while we waited. We went out to eat at Sam's and I got to stay up past my bedtime. My favorite parts were when James tried to teach me "ear muffs" and I got to eat some oranges (and parts of the peel) at Sam's.

This morning, James treated me to some donuts. Daddy sacrificed his normal ritual with me to entertain James.James also brought me some presents. He got me this really cool shirt and a book about the alphabet with pictures from New York City.I was very content to sit on his lap and play with my shapes for a long time. I think I prefer older men!
James has really long legs and he let me push my stroller under him like he was a bridge. What a fun guy! I hope I get to see him at Thanksgiving time.

Making Friends

I've been so busy making new friends in the last week that I forgot to update the blog. Sorry about that! We've been going to the tot lot (an indoor playground) and swimming every week and seeing some of the same people each time. I finished up my music classes last Wednesday and participated really well. I had Matthew's daddy visit me on Saturday night. He was fun! My daddy was home all weekend and we played and played and played. Mommy left us alone together since he wasn't on call.

I've been doing a lot of coloring, diaper changing (of my dolls), dog combing, cleaning, and stripping. Do you like the off the shoulder look? Matthew is finally back in town so we're going to catch up tomorrow morning. I can't wait!
