Valentine's Day
I hope you all have a great Valentine's Day! I wore something special that Nana got for me.
Daddy read me the book "Who Loves You, Baby?".
We took turns. My parents giggle when I read them books because I talk a lot of the time and flip the pages quickly. I'm so good I can even read upside down once in a while.
Lately I've been crawling into laps, giving people (and Euclid) hugs, and attacking Mommy for big squeezes. I like it when she crushes me between her knees.
Grandpa made me a book and toy holder and I love it lots and lots. I take stuff out and put other stuff in. I even crawl underneath it. Mommy decorated it with flowers and butterflies for me.
I'm also improving my climbing and balancing skills. I have to be watched pretty closely because I'm a daredevil. I like to stand on my bouncing zebra (no pictures because Mommy is too nervous) and I climbed on top of a Rubbermaid storage container today and did a victory dance.
Daddy and Mommy took me out to lunch today at the Pizza Ranch. It was fun! I ate lots of stuff, did some window shopping, and went to the puppy store. There were some birds there that seemed interested in me so Mommy had her karate pose ready in case of attack. She hates birds.
Mommy has been getting lots of mail lately and has officially made the switch to cloth diapers. She returned a whole box of disposables to the store yesterday because we don't need them. Mommy is quickly figuring out what she's doing and Daddy is getting in on it too. It's surprisingly easy since the diapers are put on with snaps or velcro. She just has an extra load of laundry to do every 2-3 days. This is what's called a "stash" picture and she'll do another one once my special diapers come. Prepare to be amazed. For anyone that's interested, here's what's in the stash picture: left basket - 7 bumGenius 3.0 pocket diapers, middle basket - Happy Heiny spray, cloth wipes, inserts, doublers, and liners (for night time use), right basket - 2 bumGenius 3.0 pocket diapers, one Swaddlebees organic cotton velour pocket, 3 Fuzzi Bunz pockets, in front - one DryBees Hybrid All-in-One, and one Happy Heinys pocket. She buys mostly from Nature Nurture and Kelly's Closet in case you're interested in making the switch. The links are in my list on the right.
Let's see, what else. I'm improving my spoon skills as you can see in this picture.
Oh, and I'm doing some more talking besides "ball." I frequently say Papa (too bad he's in Arizona so he doesn't get to hear it firsthand), down (when I want to go down the stairs), and moo (with much prodding and hilarity from my parents).

Disaster
Yesterday was a bit of a disaster, but it started out great. Matthew, Jamie, and GrandJan came over in the morning after breakfast. Matthew brought me a Valentine. He's getting his late because it won't get here until the 24th. That was good planning on Mommy's part, huh? We both enjoyed looking out the front door.
Matthew was mean to me for the first time ever. I'm usually the aggressor. Anyway, I bet you can guess what he did by looking at this picture. He tried to shut me outside! It was his revenge because I pulled him out of my chair by his shirt collar a little bit earlier. I want to be a professional wrestler when I grow up.
After my friends left, it all went downhill. I took a nap from 11-12 and then refused to take a nap the rest of the day. I was soooo tired by the time Daddy came home and we had supper. I fed Euclid some food and he accidentally scraped my finger because I didn't take my hand away. I cried and cried. I still love my bubba though. I fussed and yelled from about 5:30-6:30 and then I got the crazies. I laughed and laughed and laughed. Mommy and Daddy didn't mind that part. I went to bed almost an hour early and I slept about 12 hours last night. I'm feeling much better today! Mommy is going to try putting me down earlier today and I might let her look into my mouth to see if that's the problem.

56 Degrees
There was a heat wave today so we went to the park and it was FUN! I haven't gotten to swing since November.

Changes
I'm getting older and bigger and some things are going to change for me soon. I need to change to my big girl car seat! I'm still going to sit facing the back of the car because I don't weigh enough to face the front (and it's much safer to remain rear facing as long as possible, see link). Also, Mommy is thinking of day weaning me so I will only get mommy milk twice a day instead of 3-4 times. I bit her and drew blood and she doesn't feel like she's giving me much to drink anyway. Plus, I really like moo milk now. She'll probably change her mind again once she doesn't hurt.
We've taken a few pictures in the last few days. Claudia took good care of me when she was here.
Mommy found some funny pictures on the camera.
Daddy took an ET picture of me. Can you see me? I tried to hide in my Moses basket.
Here's Noah's ark. I really think the scale is all wrong. I'm very confused about some things now. Why does Moses need such a big basket when Noah was so small?
Daddy played music for me today. He's been home the last few days and is going stir crazy. At least we've had nice weather so the four of us have been going on walks every day. Bubba has been enjoying that! Sorry the picture isn't very good. Do you think my butt looks big?
Mommy has decided to change to cloth diapers. There are many reasons for it. Don't I look cute?
I love them. The only problem so far is that my poopie doesn't smell when I go in these diapers so Mommy gets a surprise when she opens them. It's amazing how much worse poop smells when it's mixed with chemicals.
I love to say ball. It's my favorite word. Daddy has been trying to teach me lots of words and I can copy him sometimes, especially when he sings.
I have a date with Matthew tomorrow. I'm pretty excited because I didn't get to see him for very long last week. He showed up late to tot lot because he slept in. It sounds like he had a fun time swimming on Friday and jumped into the deep end of the pool. I can't wait to hear all about it!

Surprise!
Guess who was here when I woke up from my afternoon nap yesterday? Aunt Claudia (GM)! We played a bunch and went to Chili's for supper. She also helped with my bath and gave me a massage. She came all this way to get to have me all to herself. She's staying to play with me some more today. Grandpa sent along a cool book/toy holder for my room. I'll have Mommy take pictures of me playing with it later.
In other news, Mr. Elephant is dying. He sounds funny when I pull on his ring. Mommy is all sad about it. Isn't that funny? If you happen to see a replacement at Target, then she'll pay you back if you buy it. There weren't any at our Target the last time she checked. He's purple with a blue belly and red rings.
I've been grumpy the last couple of afternoons because my mouth hurts. My parents say it looks like I'm sucking on a lemon by the look on my face. I won't let them look inside to find out whether it's pain from my molars finishing or my canines coming in. I'd better go have more fun with Claudia.
