Ducky

I'm quite the artist. Check out the sculpture I made with Mom's calendar blocks.Plex and I played dress up the other day. Here's my baby sister Charlotte. We went to a cool thing at the aquatic center on Saturday and there were lots and lots of ducks. There were also cousins!Leif and I hung out at the starting line for a while.Charlotte was stuck in her stroller. I think Mom was worried that she'd run into the water if she let her loose.Chloe showed up to watch the duck race too.Charlotte got a little impatient. We followed the ducks all around the lazy river.I don't think we won, but we'll find out sometime this week. It was fun though!

Daddy took me to the Oleson Park Bandshell for a concert last night. I had homemade ice cream and got to see lots of animals. We also listened to lots of singing. I counted along to a waltz. Daddy enjoyed having a date night with me on Father's Day.

I have my first swim lesson later this morning. I'm sort of excited and sort of nervous. I get to stay at Grandma's house tonight. I'm very excited about that!

Frontier Days

Life has been busier than ever. We've been swimming a lot, going out with friends and family, and generally enjoying ourselves. Charlotte and I have been taking LONG naps because we're exhausted by the time we get home. Here's a sampling of what we've been doing. Mom's been too busy to even take pictures of us! I love to eat raspberries because I like to make them owies on my fingertips.I wrote my first word. "MOM"We were in a parade for Frontier Days. This was what the back of our trailer looked like. Here's the front of the float. Our theme was "Baby Gates to Our Past" because the general theme for the year was "Gateway to Our Past." We have a modern baby gate in the front (along with an authentic kid picking his nose), a baby gate from the 20th century in the middle, and then a chicken wire gate in the back. Aunt Emily came up with the general concept.Mom snapped a picture as we walked in the parade. There were lots and lots of kids and candy. I loved it!We went to the Fort on Friday night for supper. We went into all the old buildings. Our favorite was the jail.We really liked the schoolhouse too.The food was yummy. I really liked the pickles.Sometime Mom will take pictures at the pool and splashpad, but Charlotte makes that a challenge. She's a running girl!

One of my favorite parts of the day is when my parents play Busytown with me. The board is 6 feet long so we only play it while Charlotte is asleep.I took some pictures with Mom's camera. I'm not too shabby at it!I tried my hand at fishing yesterday morning. I caught two fish. Here I am with my perch. Here I am with my blue gill. Daddy's timing was off, but I did actually give the fish a kiss on the lips. He kissed me back. I can't wait to eat him!Fishing is hard work. I took about a three hour nap after I got home.
We've been enjoying the nice weather. We keep the patio door off the kitchen completely open and Charlotte and I run in and out of the house all the time. Sometimes we run into the house holding hands and giggling. Mom says we're ridiculously cute.

Routine

I love my bedtime routine. First I brush my teeth and floss. Next, I put on my jammies and pick out my books. We read two books while laying in my bed. Then, if it's a winning night, I get to read a third book. I always win! After my last book, I turn off the light, Mom turns on my white noise machine, and Daddy turns on the soother. We lay around and snuggle like pictured below until the soother turns off (about 5 minutes). Time is up for Mom and Daddy to get their snuggles so then we say good night. Daddy has to wait in the hall while Mom gives me a hug and kiss. She sends Daddy in for a hug and a kiss. Daddy sends Mom back in for one last hug and kiss. She sends Daddy in one last time and that's that. I usually go potty after they leave and tuck in all my friends before I fall asleep. If Daddy or Mom aren't there when it's time for bed, then they have to impersonate each other. Daddy even fills his shirt to make me laugh. Sometimes I ask for Grandma. That's a funny impression. So there's a look at our routine.Holding hands while we snuggleMom found my masterpiece the other day and took a picture. I like to match!Daddy and I are silly!
For those of you wondering about Mom's friend that had a baby that had surgery last week, you can follow along on her blog. Here's the link: http://pittypittypatter.blogspot.com/ The little girl's name is Silje (prounounced Sil-yeh) and she's a week and a half old. She's a beautiful baby!

Fun!

I've been a happy, happy girl because we've been having lots of fun in the last week.We went to a circus last Tuesday. It had a big, fancy tent (snicker, snicker). It smelled like livestock.Grandma and Grandpa came with us to see the show. Some kids went on elephant rides. My friend, Kayla, is on the back of the elephant with her daddy.Charlotte was most entertained by the dogs and the light up wands. We went to Iowa City this past weekend and did lots of fun things. We went to tot lot, went swimming, went to the children's museum, went swimming some more, went to restaurants, and went to a park. On the last morning we went to Matthew's house to play. It was a fantastic trip.

Mom had to take a couple of pictures of me taking care of the babies at the museum.Baby broke her arm!We did the couch picture. It had been about a year since the last one. I was highly cooperative. Can you imagine trying to get a good picture of this crew?I just love Matthew. We had a great time, but it sure was nice to get back home!We had some friends over this morning and played so hard that we had to take baths before naps. I brought the big girls upstairs and we made all sorts of food in my kitchen while the babies played outside with the moms. I love being able to play with friends!
