Snow Business

We played in the snow today and it was lots of fun. My parents did a video of part of it. It's pretty boring.

On Friday I had my appointment and it wasn't too interesting. My diaper rash is improving and I haven't had any more strange diaper happenings. I'm still skinny, but no one is too concerned about that. It's a good thing because I don't really like to eat much of anything these days. Leif told me that food isn't that great and I think he's right. Mommy milk will only last so long so I need to get it while I can!

.

We went back to the hospital on Friday afternoon so Mommy could see a doctor. She's had a cold off and on since the week before Thanksgiving and it had gotten to the point that it really hurt to swallow. She lost weight because she couldn't eat much of anything because she was in so much pain. The doctor put her on antibiotics and she's already feeling quite a bit better. I'm glad she can sing to me again. She sang to me when she was sick, but it was even worse sounding than usual.

.

Our family pictures were taken yesterday. Click on the link if you want to see the pictures. Enter my last name and the password is family. Don't go all crazy ordering pictures because Mommy and Daddy did get some extras with their package to give to some family members. They won't get them until after next weekend though.

Tooth L has finally broken through. Now I'm working on S, but it has a ways to go.

Shoes, Glorious Shoes

Mama told you she took some pictures of me in my cool new shoes so here they are. These are from a few days ago when I was feeling really good. I've been playing with my new train a lot. When you insert stuff in the top, it disappears!I've tried to watch to see where it goes, but it happens too fast.Oh no, the SUV got in an accident with the train.Did someone call the fire department?Matthew tried to show me how to get the zebra going yesterday afternoon. Our naps actually matched up perfectly so we had a good time together. Anyway, he isn't really any more skilled with the zebra than me. I can climb off and on it really well, but it fits him better.I'm more kind to Matthew these days. I fed him a Cheerio and helped him throw balls over the back of the couch.Mama and Jamie did a toy swap so I played with the baseball toy this afternoon. I'm dressed funny because Mama had me do naked time in the bathroom for an hour, but she didn't want me to be completely naked since it's winter. I felt much better after I aired out for a while and acted like my normal self again. The 3.5 hour nap probably had something to do with that also.My newest game is hide and go seek. I run away and hide in the dining room. When Daddy is home, I call his name and run away. He chases after me. I always call him Daddy now instead of Dada.
Mama bought another pair of shoes for me for my pictures on Saturday. Too bad the silver shoes don't match my outfit because they're awesome. Did you know it's hard to find size 4 shoes?

Sick

Last night I had some disastrous happenings in my diapers and I had another incident in the night. By the time I got up for the day, I had a raging diaper rash. I'm all puffy, chapped, and red. I've never had a diaper rash before and it's no fun. Mama has promised me some naked time this afternoon so I can air out. I was feeling punky this morning and nursed for 40 minutes straight. Usually I try to stand up and run around while I'm nursing in the morning so it was strange to Mama that I wanted to snuggle.

I have my doctor appointment tomorrow. Maybe I'll get out of my shots since I'm not entirely well. That would be pretty sweet!

Swimming

This is the last installment of my birthday celebration posts. We went swimming after our dinner. Don't worry. We waited half an hour before we did any serious swimming. I still love to be in the water.Leif was grumpy because he was tired, but he put up with it pretty well.Grandma enjoyed holding me just a little bit.I love to blow bubbles in the water. I've started doing that at bath time too.I was really tired after a while so we went home and I slept for a long time.We came back the next morning and did some more swimming. Why is Aunt Emily laughing so hard?Seriously, what's so funny?Leif is very good at lounging. He's beautiful too!I think I should be on the cover of Sports Illustrated for babies.I told Aunt Claudia and Uncle Matt a story and I used my hands like Dada and Nana. You won't believe it, but I went down this slide twice. My dada took me down it and held me above his head when we splashed down. I've never seen Mama look so nervous.

I'm glad my party was so much fun for everyone.

.

In other news, my sleep has changed again. I took one nap on Sunday from 11-1:30 and then didn't take another nap that day (Mama tried, but I refused). I slept from 7:30pm - 8am the next day and that reset my system. Now I'm getting up for the day between 7:30am and 8:30am, going down for a morning nap at around 11am, sleeping for an hour or so, taking an afternoon nap at 3pm for an hour or so, and then going to bed at 8pm. All of my sleeping is being done in my crib. Mama leaves the room while I'm awake and I settle myself down. Mama wonders who this toddler is that knows how to sleep. She's having a hard time sleeping in since she's used to getting up around 6am. She tells me she wants me to keep up what I've been doing. We'll see.

.

Matthew is coming over this afternoon. I hope I wake up and get to see him. If not, then I'll get to play with him tomorrow morning because Mama is going to be in charge of him for a couple of hours.

.

Oh, and one last thing before I go: I love shoes. They're so fun to wear. I love stomping around making noise. Mama took some pictures of me in my fancy new shoes that she'll post some time.

Boston's

This is part 2 of 3 of my birthday celebration. After my party I took a nice nap and then we went out to a restaurant with all my guests. We went to Boston's. I've never been there before. Neither had Leif. He seemed a little alarmed (and adorable).Aunt Claudia had been there before. She likes the "cheese".Grandpa and Milo perused the menu.Nana and Papa got to hold onto me until the food started coming.Leif broke free of his car seat so we did a cutest baby showdown. It ended in a tie.My dada looks like a bunny rabbit!Someone took the camera away from Mama for a second.I love Dada 186!I ate an entire banana as an appetizer.I had my first restaurant entree. It looks like a ton of food, but I ate all of the oranges and quite a bit of the quesadilla. I had no interest in the milk except for as a projectile.
Stay tuned for the last part of my celebration. It's all about the pool!

The Party

Mama told me that she's going to split the celebration into three separate posts because she's overwhelmed. Today is "The Party." Tomorrow is "Boston's." The next day is "Swimming."

All of my cousins came to my party. The only one that isn't in this picture is Macy and that's who I'm looking at. We all played with my Busy Ball Popper. I bought it with the birthday money from my great grandmothers.I got a good hold of Milo's face.My guests wore party hats. Leif really loved wearing a hat.So did Milo. And Euclid and Hailey wore them too.Mama got all of the food ready for us. Yummy!I got to eat my favorite - blueberries!I got my very own cake and it said 186 on it.I had a lot of help with my cake.I didn't dive in immediately, but I made a big enough mess.Everyone else had to share this cake. Mama wishes people would have eaten more because she's been munching on it the last two days while Dada has been stuck at the hospital.I had my own special hat that I wore for about 30 seconds. After we ate, I opened my presents. I received some new board books, some clothes, an SUV, and a train. I love them all and have played with everything in the last couple of days. Yes, that includes the clothes. Thanks everybody!Look what Anya can do!Nana held me up to the balloons. After the party, my parents took them down and I've been playing with them in the living room.

I hope you enjoyed part one of my birthday celebration.

Note from Andrea: I changed some settings on the blog so you can still post comments, but they won't show up immediately. I have to approve them first.

112

That's how many pictures were taken yesterday and today on my parents' camera alone. Plus, they did a video when I had my first cake. My family party was this weekend and it was so much fun! Mama has to wade through all the footage, but she'll get to it later today or tomorrow.

In the meantime, Mama's friend Sarah had her baby on Friday and named her Lyric Hope. If you don't remember her story, then click on the link. It's just about the best news ever! It's pretty heavy stuff, so don't let your kids read it on their own.
