Spontaneity

Spontaneity is not usually Mommy's strong suit, but she had to get creative this morning. The smoke alarm went off when she was baking something so she decided to use the self clean function on the oven afterwards. The smoke alarm went off again...and wouldn't stop, so she loaded all of us up really quickly and we had to find something to do. We went to a pharmacy, stopped at McDonald's (because she hadn't grabbed enough of a breakfast for me), and then drove to a park. I asked to get out to play, so we did for an hour or so. Mommy remembered the camera in the rush to leave. Good thinking, huh?

Peekaboo!
Hello, down there. Is the slide too hot?Nope! It's fun.Charlotte chased the shade in the stroller for a while.Happy girl! She snuggled Mommy in bed for about four hours this morning so that put a twinkle in her eye. Silly girl refused to nurse yesterday and would only drink out of a bottle so Mommy didn't mind nursing her in bed for so long. Daddy had to go sleep on the couch though 'cause Baby Cakes is a bed hog.Weeeee!Charlotte nursed (yay!) and then got a diaper change on a picnic table. We both enjoy getting changed outside.

We went out to eat this past weekend and I graduated to a booster seat. Charlotte is going to start solids someday so it was time for me to move on. I did a great job. We went to Quinton's and I pointed out where Grandma spilled her pop.

I'll be in Fort Dodge at this time next week, blissfully napping at Nana and Papa's house after getting to play in my new house for a little while. I bet time will fly. We have a playdate tomorrow morning and we're going to a park on Friday morning. Nana and Papa are coming on Saturday so my parents can go to a party. They're leaving on Sunday and we're going to have our final "party night" in this house. Daddy has a ceremony on Monday and then we're heading HOME. I can't wait to see all my cousins. Kids are my favorite thing right now.

Museum Plus

We went to the Iowa Children's Museum on Tuesday and had tons of fun. I started by getting some groceries. My favorites were the fruits and vegetables. I'm a pro at picking those out because Mommy lets me pick them out at HyVee too.I rode on the airplane. Too bad Papa wasn't there this time!I climbed up a flight of stairs and told Mommy I was going to go down the slide.Yes, this slide.I chickened out and we went to a different room where I played with trains. After the trains, we went up the elevator. We spent the rest of the time on the farm. It's meant for kids my age so there's a lot to do.I played in the farm house and fed and bathed the babies.Charlotte had a great time too. She hung out on a quilt and played with Sophie. This is the farm house where I spent most of my time.I undressed my baby and Mommy informed me that the baby was a boy. It was anatomically correct. There were a couple of slides on the farm too.I'm a good tractor driver. Do you like my smile?Mommy has had the camera out a few times since Tuesday. I'm in a posing and smiling phase so she's taking advantage of the situation. We went to tot lot on Friday for the last time. I was in constant motion so there are a bunch of blurry pictures of me.I finally figured out how to use the big slide. I have to be naughty and climb up it, but I guess that's okay with a bouncy slide?I did a stinky at tot lot so that I could get changed in the car. I love to get changed in the back of the car.Notice anything new with our sign?Mommy made me a "happy meal". Yummy! She's trying to trick me into eating stuff by making it funny. She got me to eat some "magic meatballs" the other night too.I figure that I'll go straight to Victoria's Secret once I'm done with diapers. We went shopping this morning and I held Daddy's hand in the parking lot like a good girl.Safe and sound on the sidewalk.I love to look at all of the animals.I love it so much that I don't like to go home afterwards.
Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Golf Outing

We went to another party tonight at a golf course. Mommy put me in one of my new summer dresses because it was 90 degrees out today. We realized there weren't any decent pictures of us as a family since Charlotte was born so we had someone snap a couple at the party. I didn't really want to cooperate.Matthew and I went on an elevator ride for fun.I tickled and hugged him lots and lots. He's my best friend and I'm going to miss him when we move.

Catch Up

Mommy got behind with the blogs once again. She's busy, people! I've been giving her a run for her money too. Excuse this post (and Charlotte's) if they're a little jumbled.

Mommy posed me with my sister so she'd be able to give Dr. Lisa a picture of us next week. I won't be able to say goodbye to my doctor because Charlotte's appointment is during my nap so this is as good as she'll get.I am so proud to be a big sister.I love it when Daddy is home and that hasn't happened a whole lot lately. It was such a rare event that Mommy had to take a picture. We went to tot lot on Friday. Mommy hung out and showed off Charlotte so she didn't get any pictures of me playing, but I did come sit by her for a quick snack.I've been doing some coloring on rainy days. Can you believe that I did the ladybug all by myself? Mommy says I'm an awesome colorer.I was being really naughty and using my playhouse as a step stool. Instead of being a good mommy, the camera got pulled out and Mommy told me to make some faces (before she stole my playhouse and put it in the garage for the night). This face was a little more pleasant.Funny face! I'm silly. All four of us were helping Mommy cook supper. We've been watching Lulu all week and she fit right in.We went to a graduation party last night and we got all spiffed up.This is why my parents let me get away with so much!Even the big boys didn't get too mad when I moved the balls around (really, I did move them). We went to the park a few times last week. I love to climb. There's a bigger version of this caterpillar that I can climb too, but it's sort of scary to me (and really scary to Mommy since she's not always right next to me at the park these days).A nice boy shared his sand toys with me so I brought the bucket over to show my sister.Phew! I'm sure there will be another random rambling post coming in the next week. We're moving in just three weeks and then you know what you're going to see lots of pictures of? FAMILY!!!
